The claim that Jeffrey Epstein was recruited by Israeli Intelligence, specifically the Mossad, to use political blackmail originates from Ari Ben-Menashe, a former Israeli Intelligence officer [top-right pic]. This allegation was first prominently detailed in a 2019 book (that was not mine).
Readers will know that Ben-Menashe (who was a primary informant for my book “Maggie’s Hammer” — https://maggieshammer.com/ — published in 2015) claimed to have been the Israeli Intelligence handler for Robert Maxwell, a British media mogul and Labour Party politician.
Ben Menashe alleged in the book that Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell were introduced to Mossad by Robert Maxwell in London in the Eighties, and that subsequently Epstein, along with his involvement in arms-dealing out of London, began “honey-trap” operations to blackmail prominent figures for Israeli Intelligence.
My own 27-year research for “Maggie’s Hammer,” along with detailed information from Ben Menashe, led me to outline in my book close links between the CIA, MI6 and Israeli Intelligence, certainly going back to the Seventies, and involving Ben Menashe prominently in the Eighties.
During this latter period, Ben Menashe worked out of London, which is where he had dealings with Hugh Simmonds CBE (the subject of my book), who became part of a covert operation in the Eighties to sell arms illicitly to both Iran and Iraq, and then to launder proceeds back to senior politicians in the UK.
Epstein’s first introduction to the Maxwells and Ben Menashe in London in the Eighties was in the context of arms deals, not political blackmail. At least, not at first. Along with his association with Ari, Hugh also worked with and laundered arms deal proceeds for Robert Maxwell at this time (https://tinyurl.com/488knz83).
As I say in the FB link posted in the last paragraph, when the allegations about Epstein and Mossad first arose in 2019, for me, they had about them the ring of truth because of my own research, the involvement of Ben Menashe, and the conclusions I had already reached in 2006 (when the first version of my book appeared in self-published form) about the nefarious, decades-long, joint and covert undertakings around the world of the CIA, MI6 and Israeli Intelligence.
Israeli Intelligence became involved in these joint undertakings after 1972 (the massacre at the Munich Olympics), when the right-wing of Israeli Intelligence, encouraged by Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin, and including Ben Menashe, made a decision to take the fight against Palestinian military activity outside of just the Middle East, and especially into Europe and the US.
“Maggie’s Hammer” details this expansion of activity; the decades-long interaction between the CIA, MI6, and Mossad; its covert nature; and the fact that, especially in the Eighties, hundreds of millions of dollars were raised illicitly to finance these covert undertakings (hence, arms deals, Iran-Contra, etc.). Hugh’s involvement was primarily to launder the proceeds for Ari, Maxwell, and a whole slew of British politicians.
Although the undertakings were highly organized and widespread (in 2006, I coined the term ‘InTerNet’ — International Terror Network; other authors came up with their own monikers), Ari always made clear to me that, whatever the genesis, by the end of the Eighties and beyond, the aim was no longer intelligence-based, military, or even political blackmail, it was making money. Pure and simple.
So. Over the next few weeks and months, remember this. As seedy as you may already think the story is, delving into the whole morass will only demonstrate that it is even more seedy than it appears at the moment.
